Our journey began in 1984 with a mission to address the acute shortage of healthcare professionals, particularly nurses and midwives, as experienced by Mutolere Hospital. Over the years, our commitment to excellence has propelled us to the forefront of healthcare education in Uganda and beyond.
Our vision is clear: we aspire to be a center of excellence, training healthcare professionals who not only meet the highest standards of competence but also exhibit a deep sense of compassion and dedication. We believe in producing individuals who are not just skilled but also driven by a profound desire to make a positive impact in the lives of those they serve.
While our journey started with a primary focus on nursing and midwifery, the ever-changing landscape of healthcare has led us to expand our mission. Today, we train a variety of healthcare professionals across health sciences. Our mission is to train competent health professionals through intensive teaching, clinical practice, and research.
Our success is a result of collaboration and commitment. We work closely with our dedicated teaching and hospital staff, our vibrant student community, our loyal alumni, and the broader Kisoro community to shape the future of healthcare education. Together, we address the critical need for well-trained healthcare professionals, both locally and nationally.
We believe that education should transcend geographical boundaries. To increase school enrollment and accessibility, we have introduced continuing education through seminars, face-to-face tutorials, electronic learning, and other forms of distance education.
