Celebrating the Heart of Healthcare: Mutolere Hospital Honors Nurses, Midwives, and Workers on 16th May,2026

The administration, staff, and community of Mutolere Hospital proudly came together to celebrate three important occasions which were International Nurses Day, International Labour Day, and International Day of the Midwife. The celebration was organized to appreciate the dedication, sacrifice, and commitment demonstrated by nurses, midwives, and all workers who tirelessly serve humanity every day at Mutolere hospital.

The event provided an opportunity to recognize healthcare workers and support staff for their outstanding contribution toward improving health services and community wellbeing. It also reminded everyone of the importance of unity, teamwork, and professionalism in healthcare delivery.

During the celebration at Mutolere Hospital, the Medical Director, Dr. Mugisha Jerom, officially handed over the tools of power to Dr. John Manzi as a symbol of leadership, trust, and continuity in service. The handover ceremony marked a significant moment of commitment to strengthening healthcare services and teamwork within the hospital.

Hospital leaders including district officials acknowledged the important responsibilities nurses and midwives perform daily, including caring for patients, administering treatment, providing health education, and supporting families during difficult times. Nurses and midwives were praised for being at the center of patient care and for their dedication in promoting recovery and wellbeing. Speakers encouraged nurses to continue serving with integrity, empathy, and professionalism while maintaining high standards of healthcare delivery.

The celebration highlighted the critical services nurses and midwives provide during pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postnatal care. Their contribution toward reducing maternal and infant mortality within the community was recognized and celebrated.

Kisoro district health officer (DHO) who was the main celebrant thanked all employees for their teamwork, discipline, and commitment toward ensuring effective service delivery. Workers were encouraged to continue working together in harmony to strengthen healthcare services within the hospital and the wider community.

The celebration included various activities aimed at promoting unity and appreciation among staff members. Inspirational speeches were delivered by hospital leaders and invited guests, encouraging workers to remain committed to their professions and responsibilities.

Staff members participated in entertainment activities including music, dance, sports and group interactions that created a joyful and memorable atmosphere. The event also provided an opportunity for healthcare workers to share experiences, encourage one another, and strengthen teamwork within the hospital.
